2018 594 Soapy! This thing rawks! Last gig I did was nothing but this baby. The neck profile is called Pattern Vintage and whatever they did with this asymmetrical carve is the schizzle I tells ya!
This colour is called Trampas Green, and I really get off on the whacky flame

Heres my PRS story.Only one i got and its a whooper. So YEARS AGO like before i even new what a PRS was or that it excisted i was in Portland Oregon and stopped in to Portland Music.Dude that owns the joint then was a collector too.Ive not been there since.Anyways i go in tbere to buy a leather strap so i walk in and tbougbt id reached the Promise Land.Guitars hanging everywhere,everywhere i say.Id never seen nothin like,still aint.I even seen a brand new Gibson Stingray and im like huh??? Vintage Stratocaster hanging higb on the walls everywhere.Les Pauls hanging like German sausages. So i brings my purchase up to the counter and make conversation with the ol boy.Nice place i tell him. He said would you like to see a 60 thousand dollar PRS Dragon guitar ? Im like WTF a 60 grand guitar you got to be kidding me.So this thing is behind the counter and he brings it out.OMG it was one of the original PRS Dragon guitars.I mean my jaw dropped.this thing had the whole fretboard inlaid with a colored Dragon.unbelievable.There it is folks i actually got to see and touch one of those guitars :)

The story is that I loved the 594 Soapy so much that I wanted to try the standard version with some upgrades.
I looked high and low for many weeks and was losing hope until I stumbled upon...



It's a 2017 Wood Library 594 Satin with rosewood neck, smoked chrome hardware, Ziricote fretboard and headstock veneer. The satin finish is to die for and feels fantastic. The birds are fashioned from two different shells.
This came to me with a Dimarzio in the bridge, but also a spare 58/15 LT in the case, yay!

















The Ziricote is cool looking IMHO. Each tone knob splits the associated pup when pulled. There's a story about replacing the bridge pup, but for now...

OK, I see ya saved the best for last. Drop dead gorgeous. The rosewood neck is killer and the flame top is to die for.

That's so cool! I've only seen pictures, and they're amazing. But I think I'd be too scared to play it.
 
OK, so here's the story on the bridge pup swap on my last acquisition...
As stated, the guitar came with a Dimarzio PAF in the bridge. I liked that pup. I had to lower it because it was a bit to hot and not balanced with the neck pup.
Because the guitar came with a spare 58/15LT I thought I'd run with the Dimarzio for a couple of weeks before I made a switch. I did like the pup, but I also really wanted to experience the guitar as built/in its original form.
So after a couple of weeks, 3 band practices and a few hours at home I was ready to do the deed, so...
I pull the spare 58/15 out of the box and... wha whaaaaa (sad trombone) the pup is only 2 wire so I can't split it! Crap!
Hmmm... I contact PRS to see if there's some mistake, and they reply that 2 wire 58/15s were made to go in Hollowbodys. Ratburgers...
Then it dawned on me... I've seen videos of people tapping/splitting pups like these. Now this is something I don't have steady enough hands for, and the last thing I want to do is ruin this pickup.
Off to the trusty internet, and after 5 mins I found a local luthier that would do it, and install it for $75... SOLD!
So I hop in the car and head out there, he's less that 10 miles from me. You should have seen the look on his face when I opened the case (there's a song in there somewhere). He was blown away.
So I wait two days, like a junkie shivering and suffering for his next fix, and then I get the call.
Hop back in the car and blast out there again two hours before practice. When I got there he just couldn't shut up about it. "The nicest guitar that's come through the door in maybe forever!" he says.
I let him play it for quite a while, and something tells me he already had been "testing" it. We got to talking and he said he'd love to try a Silver Sky, so I offered to come back with mine and a couple others to let him have his way with them for an afternoon over a "beverage". He is a really great guy, so why not, right?
Well as we all know, two weeks later Covid got in the way of anything like that... oh well, there will be a day.
Suffice to say that the 2 wire pup, split by the luthier is the successful completion of a dream.:love:
