With the ' shelter at home' order, I'm enjoying a bit of downtime. I was thinking about how convenient it is to have a 3way switch on my fretted S101 bass And also on the new fretless. My frankenjazz however, has the standard setup: 2 volume, 1 tone which got my evil little mind working. After rummaging through my spare parts drawer, I found a 3 way rotary switch from a squier 51 that's undergoing some serious bastardization. Well...now the jazz has a master volume and tone, a 3 way selector, and still looks totally stock! Am I in trouble?
 
You bass guys baffle me.

We guitar guys throw knobs and switches on our guitars all the time.

Not a problem.

I don't think I've split the space-time continuum, yet.

Well...to be totally honest (or not)...when I "Les Paul-ized" my Jackson Dinky, I may (or may not) have created a sub-space rift that may (or may not) have opened a worm-hole to another dimension.

I can neither confirm, nor deny, these events, however.

Is your Jackson an archtop? If so, you may have dodged that bullet...
