Ok, I’m excited.

Got the tenon cover and backplate today.

I had to scrape away a bit of plastic to get the plate to fit, but it was anessy job to fix it. The tenon cover sits a bit too far to the right to be symmetrical in relatio to the neck, but I used the excisting screw holes, so I guess this is how it was placed originally.

I think I got a pretty nice guitar out of this!

Well Gahr, I think you really blew it this time with this guitar. It is incredibly and horribly ruined. But let me help you out by PM-ing you my shipping address, and don't forget to pay extra for express shipping. Okay, buddy... :fingersx:

Thanks, John.

The Norwegian parliament have passed some new bills to help people through the corona crisis. This means I'll be paid in full for the first 20 days of being laid off. Businesses will have the dates for VAT payments and other bills to the state delayed, but the economy will be hit REALLY hard. I am genuinely worried the brewery will have to close down. And even if it survives, a lot of our customers (bars/restaurants) are likely to go bankrupt, so we might be left without anyone to sell the majority of our beer to. The whole of the brewing industry has the same problem here at the moment. Most of us have been laid off. I just talked to a friend (drummer I used to play with) who works as a sales guy for a brewery we own 10 % of the shares in. He was just laid off too, and fears he'll be out of work in a few weeks. My brewery is in a fortunate position in that our two biggest shareholders are filthy rich, so we might be able to secure loans from them, but we'll struggle for months to come, even if the strict quarantine and closing of the bars only lasts for a short while.

I'm just glad I bought what I needed to make this guitar playable before the crisis hit.:) Because it will be a long while until I can do anything like this again...

Wow....

Several family members who work in the Los Angeles hotel industry have been laid off. My son Marc, who works at a facility that cares for special needs kids, he is fortunate the company is keeping him on to maintain the facility, but a lot of care workers are out of work.

My oldest son, who is an IT Manager, is blessed to have his workload doubled, as many firms are paying to have secure networks set up at home for employees.

The normally busy freeway system, into and out of the greater Los Angeles area, is totally traffic-jam free.

Many shops in the malls have signs posted offering wares for 50% off.

Gasoline prices have dropped consistently over the past few days. 91 octane at Costco is under $3.00 a gallon.

Stores and streets deserted..

^ yes, it's gonna be tough times for everyone, Robert, The US seems to have had set back after set back for the longest while now; hope it gets better for you all.

That guitar, Gahr, I'll leave the comment to an expert:

A positive thought regarding the whole corona thing: It is not an actual war we're facing. Wars destroy infrastructure, people's homes etc. This is "just" a disease that puts everyday life on hold for a while. The consequences will be enormous, but we won't have to rebuild the whole world after it is over. If governments around the world make some smart decisions, it will potentially soften the blow for everyone. And IT WILL NOT LAST FOREVER. We don't need to turn into doomsday peppers for this.

Very nice!

LOL!!!

Not exactly, but the peace and solitude of my motorcycle excursions has made me want to give up my music job more than ever. I'm only doing it now because it pays my bills.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future, i can put my guitars and amps away for good, retire officially, and just concentrate on having fun...

Hey Gahr, your thread has taken a turn and that's even without eESGe turning up!

Anyways, as your glorious '65 standard is coming together, I thought you'd like a shot of your next guitar (probably after the Covid-19 although how many kidneys do you currently own?):

What a nice fit for your collection, fills a gap and would look magnifthreecant between your Junior and Standard... No need to thank me. :D

(on a side note, to this side note, on a page of side notes... I wouldn't buy from these Japanese scalpers, there seems to be endless of 'em just finding one guitar in Japan somewhere then advertising it all over ebay; very annoying.)
