So I got this about a week ago. It's an 18i8 focus right interface kit. It cost about $700.00 tax and shipping included. @mcblink and I have played a little with it, taking baby steps.

This was our first effort with it, no editing just the raw recording. It's a live jam with the Tascan TM80 and a SM58 at mid room set attempting to create detention to it. Next will be finding out how much I realy suck by trying individual instrument tracks.

always like it live best..,my mix's are becoming more primitive each song & the sound is getting bigger !! You guys have a great capture...looking forward as you progress in the recording...hear lots of goodness in that track !!

Its somthing we have both kinda jumped into. Got tied of :poo:ty phone recordings so added to the gear. The sound quality is much better I'll say. There was no mix down on that recording

The tightness you guys have..is priceless.You can hear that you guys play together a lot & work well together. Nothing beats a band that can sound just like their recordings,,,,geeze i saw Fleetwood Mac the other day on TV., think there was 3 other guitar players behind the stage...i can't do that...into the" just bring it" mentality..

Day 2:

Near same setup, added one mic hanging from the ceiling. A cheap Peavey 580.

Jammed on the new riffage again, tried to write a song.....there are flubs here and there, but we'll get it worked out.

Here's tonight's "fruit"....we've got some work yet, but it's shaping up nicely...

BTW, if anyone wants to do some vocals for us on this......please....pretty please?? I don't want to get stuck trying to "sing" on this one, too...lol I know some of you could probably do it better!!!

I think it sounds like any generic hair lol

I've been struggling with the subject matter myself. In the past, a certain riff or song will make me feel a certain way, and I'll write around that emotion....I guess.

For this one, I just don't know lol I guess it'll take a bit of time. I'll figure it out, if one of you don't first! lol! I AM OPEN to ideas and stuff!!!

One thing I did differently, in addition to the third mic, was to set the condenser to record in stereo.

I have yet to figure out how to edit individual tracks and such. I did figure out how to add, say, reverb to vocals, but that's about it. It took me an hour to figure out how to fade the end of that one out how I thought was "acceptable" yet, not exactly how we'd like. Anyway, that's where we are....
