P90 P90 P90 P90 P90 P90 P90 P90 P90 ... etc

Looking to change the P90's in my BluesHawk. What is everyone's favorite flavor of P90? I am looking for the old 50's sound.

I've got a Bare Knuckle Stockholm P-90 in my SG Junior

They are long pants chilipeppermaniac

Specs on the Stockholm can be seen here. Basic sound qualities a very P90, but maybe a bit heavier and darker sounding

I had to change the pickguard mounting of the pickup to a screw-into-wood mounting as the mounting plate didn't fit the BKP baseplate

That is wild, Dave. They look exactly like my shorts. No Kidding. Love that pink guitar and pink bass drum.

Well if you like woody and articulate cleans and hairy biting mid range grit, and attack dynamics, they're ok,
I guess......

Before any of you drop coin on new spendy pick ups, consider magnet swaps as a cheap and easy way to see if that tone you need
is inside those pickups somewhere.
P90 are particularly responsive / particular to height/ distance from strings.

YOu need two per pick up, HB sized magnets are the same or there abouts.
I repeat: Cheap and easy to do.

Its all been sail before, but someone who isnt familiar just might click this thread based on the title.

I find I make more expressive faces while playing P90's over other types of pickups.
But thats just me.

I get mine here:

The title reminds me of the movie Rain Man. I can just see Dustin Hoffman repeating that over and over until dickhead Tom Cruise flips out.
"P90's, yes definitely P90's"

I have to admit, it's been almost 20 years since I have had a guitar with P-90's in it. That's not because I dislike them, either. It's just that whenever I play them I like the way they sound but they don't provide the answer to any tone question I was asking, so I pass. I guess they don't inspire me for some reason.

the Duncan Antiquity P90 Dogear is the best one ive had yet.well the Bare Knuckle Supermassive 90 Dogear is as good just has a little different voice.

So, I gotta ask, did anybody else read the title to this thread out loud, and think of that Baby Back Ribs commercial from several years ago?

Now, I'm hungry.

No Smitty, all I keep getting is Rain Man.

But NOW I keep thinking of Fat Bastard singing the Baby Back Rib thing and saying "Baby, the other, other white meat. Get in maa bellayyy!!"
Ok here we go off topic again, apologies.
