Hey all..thx for the welcome. My buddy David turned me on to this site. As I build non traditional stringed instruments, using slab wood and wood planks for the bodies. I also do a lot of bone works such as making guitar slides, bridges and other creations. I just finished an all one piece Wild Cherry 4 string fretless guitar and am currently working on my first 6 string factory neck / slab wood body guitar. Still in the mock up stage and just did the nek pocket last nite. It`s coming along and still needs some profiling of the 2 1/4" thick Spalted Maple body.
I removed some wood off the bottom today. So now it is 1 3/4"thick at the neck and 2" thick at the rear end. Also did some profile grinding with a wood rasp disc. Thinking about a black walnut lower leg extension. Rest of the parts should be here this week.
