Favourite OD to goose your favourite amp?

If it's between the original three, I'd go with the OCD. I've had an MXR Distortion+ since I bought it new in 1978. It's a great fuzz bux, but not really an overdrive. Unless they have changed it a bit, of course.

Not on the list, I prefer the Analogman Prince of Tone or Klon KTR.

Johnny, I have one of the first generation silver '69 Pedals. It's a very, very cool pedal.

^ Are they the famous Lesser Known Canadian Monkeys? :D

I lived in Saraburi for 6 months and would sometimes go on day trips with the wife to Lopburi - that's where the REALLY naughty monkeys live...

You are a man of taste, Sir!

I've nearly ordered a Prince of Tone nearly half a dozen times, but the online site struggles with my Korean credit card... I did send an email, maybe 6 months ago(?) for a KofT, so I'm probably on the list and may get one one day, not sure, don't really care either. I've always wanted the Sunlion, but have been put off by the price and the fact that the only fuzzes I can get to work for me are the really simple OD types (Wampler Velvet Fuzz and Keeley Son of Fuzzface):

Also, I had the Soul Food, and it's a kinda nice and sweet little more of everything, but adds colour; I'm not really after that at the moment.

I have been playing around with my MojoMojo tonight and at best I give it a meh. I can get some okay sound out of it as a clean boost, but if I try to add any drive at all it degrades the quality of sound through the 2203. Just tends to get muddy. Maybe it works on a clean channel, so I will try it on the low input later. I've had it for several years now and rarely use it. Maybe it will be better on the 1987 when I get that done. I'm really just looking for something to add a little flavor to the 2203, not significantly more drive. I'm hoping the Soul Food does that. It sounded good on the demos I listened to.

I watched a Paul Gilbert gear rundown, he loved that Mojo Mojo.

He went on and on, but I think he might have been stacking it with something else can't remember.

Sorry not a lot of help there! Look for that rundown if you're interested in P.G.s take on it.

I had a similar experience with a gainy amp; many people love the MojoMojo, so it must be decent, but maybe with cleaner amps stacked with other pedals? I reckon the Soul Food will be better suited to your application.

I don't know anything about that pedal. I'll watch a couple of Youtube vids to educate meself and avoid work!
(Three weeks of working from home here in Korea.)

It is made by Paul Crowther, the drummer fro the Kiwi band Split Enz. (You might know them? Pretty cool band, actually!) With the drive set low, it acts more like a volume boost than an OD, but as the drive is turned up, it goes from volume boost via "transparent" OD to lots of crunch to an almost fuzz-like distortion. And it works so well with Vox amps it is incredible. I don't think it was designed for Voxes specifically, but it is a match made in heaven.
