Japan (ESP) Edwards Les Paul custom. Duncan SH-1/SH-4 pickups ,Long Neck Tenon , nice sound, its aggressive with the pickups, was looking for the rock guitar..setting it up now with 10's & the neck relief is real nice, going to move it it a hair after 10's are on. came with 9's..hair thin with em but the pups do exactly what was looking for. The bridge is hot ..evens out with neck on 7 , but its a nice blend . Always like 59's & the jb is a good match.Edw out (2).jpgedw pickup (2).jpgEdw 1 (2).jpgedw 2.jpg

Thats beautiful,i love those Edwards Les Pauls. There what Gibson should be making in my opinion. Congrats BFT
thanks... will still take the Gibson LP custom over it.( my friend has 14 or 15 of em from 60's into early 70;s)...when you play a 68 all stock Gibson Les Paul custom..strait into a JTm 45. dimed... dont know if your sensory perceptions ever get back to normal..lol )so far the Orville is the off the charts one as far as PAF..the construction..the balance ..most importantly the sound....Got a Gibson arriving tomorow..then will be able to line the LP's up...really should do a demo of this gear...into dif amps...playing clean...maybe i could use my Ditto looper..

.the real demo shocker will be the ValveKing 2 ...it can do it all..no pedals, no nothing..i kinda sit on my stool with amps & twiddle my lips..a 200 dollar Vk2 head & 2 $25 jensen speakers in homeade cabs,,can do that sound...,when i recorded it the other day..the next song just pops guitar wise..the Burny into the VK2..gain under noon..no nothing..just clear..punchy..rock..that whole recording was on a rig & guitar combined under $1,000 combined...

Well i meant the newer chambered stuff there putting out. I love the old Les Paul Black beauty customs. prolly my favorite Lester.
definitely..i do not do well on that new stuff. I will never forget playing that 68 Lp custom & a burst of late 50's..it all seems like craziness on what tone was..but the certain guitars just had the mojo..my buddy also has a early 60's that is just a dull sounding guitar..look..feels like the others but just has no resonance no ring that even sounded bad in comparison in a an amp

I will have to ask my collector friend if he would allow me to share on here his guitars & amps...it's mind blowing when i go see him. he is a paraplegic who can not play..how we met is a sad story...but i always make sure he is ok..he and my Wife hit it off so quick...get to go there few times a year and play those guitars into some marshall's & fender amps that are non touched..

Lovely guitar, and you are really getting a decent stock going there...

You're very well placed to do a shootout sound test. It's so niuce to have the options and really feel the pros and cons with your own hands and ears. Top stuff.
Thank you..i almost went the youtube video route,,very seriously thought about a gear show last few months....But i want to post this gear with us playing all over the place soon... am a song writer..public speaker...non profit org fundraiser...a concert set er upper..for Original music..its my passion & they caged me now for 3 years..i dont think i would have but 3 guitars & 2 basses & 4 amps if i was still playing live..there just isnt time to do this..its fun but not as fun as being on a stage seeing if you can make em rock with ya..even if they don want to..

making moves..first time in 3 years...this weekend was a threshold to cross & i finally went in the bandroom ..first time since the accident & started getting it ready...we have all the ingredients..lets do it !! Some calls were placed.. Me & J are not going to let them beat us any more !! I really want to get this gear live...in the end it will be my Gibson SGJ as the star...its that good...

^ all sounds great. Good luck with it, BFT.
might do that LP shootout tho..if i can get time..have a nice spread of pickups..very interested in the clean..spent lots of time there first in this Lp experiment...then how it translates to the gain... seem to like a lower output ..like the amp to be at that level..then the guitar knobs are my control ..PAF style def are so dynamic & have a certain sound..& note bloom that factors into the great sound. The stuff we love growing up was played a lot cleaner before all the gain wars

Yeah, I agree that a lot of the early "metal" was pretty heavy blues riffs at times through lowish output pickups.
grump..so true..Think sabbath,,p90's....i got the LPJ out a lil last night before bed..there seems to be a threshold in gain & output..where that sound is so full..even in the runs....those guys really had amazing picking technique..so glad they didn't have all the gain we do..it's taking 2 decades..but the gear..the approach..well..it's going back to what we grew up on..maybe it...us...it's dated...but man i like the music, ages like a fine wine...early Judas Priest...AC/DC....Free....Even Alex in early Rush..that was a semi hollow..Saw an old, Sweet ..ball room blitz song yesterday live footage...can we go back ? plz...i did South on P90's strait..into a Super Reverb..only just bumping it for leads..that tone you are hearing is my 74 Super Reverb in the sweet spot..this is the day J couldn't finish the song at the studio & things have been awful since...i kid you not..these voacals are in 1 take in 15 minutes..she hates the song..but i think it represents all things rock on a simplistic level & proves a fender amp can rock it's arse off !
