Happy New Re-purposed GODIN Pickup Day

So--in my never ending battle to get the SG Faded to find its voice--- (several pup swaps by myself and @Robert Herndon ) --- I believe I had hit the SWEET SPOT

Yup---
the neck was sorted with a LOVLEY 36th anv. PAF double creme by Dimarzzio --- its GLORIOUS --- the Dirty Digits wasnt playing well in the bridge so again this morning ---- on a cool Sunday with all quiet in the house--- I decided to once again ------- SOLDER! (ugh)

and now the Chocalate colored woods of the USA Gibson SG are signing a lovely tune with the Help of a Maple Syrup dripping GODIN humbucker ;)

Aesthetics be damned --- (not "keen " on the creme creme pup) but it sounds SO DAMN GOOD I dont care -- lol

SOunds AMAZING--- @Robert Herndon and I both had monkeyed around with this thing-- and -- I was on the 3rd pup swap/change --- it was "o.k." --- but still lacked SOMETHING--

I was FORTUNATE enough to be blessed with a FREE Dimarzzio 36th Anv. pup --- in a swap of bits and bobs from @JohnnyGoo (THANKS J.G.) !!! and it was in the drawer waiting for a project ----
I had even gone so far as to look at TRADES to move the SG on down the road for something else (I still want a Firebird ) -- but it was cold and rainning yesterday and I had been working on my taxes.....and needed a break SOOO BAD -- I actually decided...............to SOLDER!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::sick::notworthy::eek:

So--- there ya have it--- and again the configuration wasnt "quite" right -----but after a second bit of swapping -- the current creatin is totally groovy

the 36th Anv. really SINGS -- I can get (with high gain) pick SQUEELS in the NECK pos. only -- where as most guitars I cant unless I use the bridge only-- it cleans up VERY NICELY and behaves well for clean jazz, dials in a litte dirt for blues--- its a GREAT pickup for sure-and the (I call it the Canuckerbucker) --- BUWAHAHAHAHAh-- is a perfect FOIL to it in the bridge--- it to is well behaved at low volume but gives great break up and pinch squeeels when the taps are opened on the gain..... the whole thing run through the mini Marshall is STUPID GOOD FUN -- I was up till almost MIDNIGHT last night just WAILING on that thing

The guitar has ALWAYS felt comfortable -- love the finish -- love the neck -- it just didnt get much play time because it sounded dull with little sustain -- now ---- I can hit a note go make a sammich come back its still ringing -- this has LESTER style sustain now----

Canuckerbucker, I love it.
We do our best to recycle all our guitar parts here in the swamp.

As far as the aesthetics go, there's always these...
