OK Extreme Sports, Surfer Dudes Let's hear stories and see videos

I am highly lucky as far as alcohol is concerned. If I have a Beer, it literally is A beer. Never wanted one while riding MX either. WATER WATER WATER,,,,,,,,,,,, or Gatorade lol.

I have never mixed booze and skating/mountain biking. I occasionally take bike rides on the trail that runs the length of the Santa Monica bay, leaving from my house in Hermosa Beach and turning around in Santa Monica or Pacific Palisades, and since they are more leisurely kinds of rides I will sometimes stop in Venice on the way home and grab a bite and a couple of beers, but the most dangerous thing on that path is the sand you have to watch out for.

Ever see any of those hot looking babes that I have seen on TV and movies depicting Socal, Venice etc along those beaches Gball?

Yes. Every day, many in my own neighborhood, and what you see on TV and in movies is not exaggerated in any way. The hottest women in the World all come to LA to "make it" and they all love hanging out at the beaches. They are everywhere along the LA coastline but concentrated in certain places like Hermosa/Venice/Santa Monica.

I should also mention that one of the great regrets of my life is the fact that I never got to live in LA as a single man. You would not believe the kind of tail that even ugly/stupid/obnoxious dudes can pull down here. You don't even need to be in a band.

Yeah that's the other thing. Manhandling a bike on the trails, in the dunes, the track....it is a lot of physical work. It does make me thirsty for hydrating beverages, instead of beers. AFTER the riding is over though, it's just as nice as crackin' open a cold one after a long day at work.

Bulldog decks. Quad 10’s and Quad 11’s mostly. Also used Bulldog wheels, usually Black Death conicals but I also had some of the softer white ones for slippery parks. Tracker Trucks, always...much better made than anything else and they have a nice, progressive turning radius, which I like for how loose you run the trucks in a pool/park.

This is the skate I rode the most at the end, before my hernia put an end to my skating life:

It's a Bulldog Quad 11 "Chemical Imbalance" deck, 11 x 34. Tracker full tracks. Black death 64mm conicals with Rockin' Rons bearings.

Not a great picture but the artwork on the deck is all messed up also, from sliding on coping.

Let's see....extreme sports....

I did have to stare into a bright sky without sunglasses while tilting my head way back so I could watch some skydivers once.

That was brutal. I think I squinted and had a sore neck for at least two full minutes.

Oh...and I ran into someone while skiing once.

See the problem with drunk sports is most people dont LEARN the sport drunk-- thus they fail--

HEre at eSGEes School of Hard Knocks -- we spent a couple decades (and many broken bones adn totaled vehicles) PERFECTING the art of drunk driving/riding/skating/skiing/ schooling/working/shopping etc etc

We offer a 3 week class (3 months for the hot chicks) in intoxicated functionality --- Diplomas will be handed out at the end....or something-- now

Step one--- send me a CRAP LOAD OF MONEY for beer/wine/rum (whatever your poison) vehicles to practice on and ammo .....

then come on down to the swamp --- and we will get you rolled --- er I MEAN ROLLING --- ROLLING --- right along yes........rolling

I forgot Drunken Carpet Baggery and Schiesterness -- thats an advanced MASTERS in B.S. CLASS ;)

I still have an unmolested Bulldog Deck and I'm actually related to Wes Humpston! We got together a few years back. I wish I had him autograph this!

These were my Quad 10's (10 x 34). Sorry for the photobucket BS. It's an old pic.

That thing is tits.

I used to go to the Bulldog Jam every year, and got to know Wes a little. He's the greatest guy. I still have my original Dog Town Bulldog from 1978, and got him to sign it at one of the Jams. He took a look at it and told me it was probably among the first hundred or so they ever made - he could tell from the wheel wells, which were apparently done by hand on those first decks.

Fantastic! I always wished I could get out here when I was a kid. All the great skating was going on and we were in hillbilly Ohio where you had to mailorder all the good
stuff and hope and pray that you didn't get ripped off! And you are right, Wes is just a really cool dude!

Ok Mitch time to do a wheel adjustment, and get that chain tightened up...
I have to believe that it was just about perfect, it’s been a few years but 1” up and down was about correct, for the suspension travel on those babies.
Someone will correct me if I am too far off the mark.
