Need to Ream Yourself?

Looks handy. I've always made to with a tapered one, but if I were doing a number of guitars I'd buy myself a step reamer.
 
Yeah. Tool like this could come in handy for sure. Just need to go buy one. On my G400 when I installed CTS pots, they of course had the larger shaft size. I cheated and used drill bits. Started one size bigger than hole and using fingers rather than electric drill, twisted bit thru the hole. Just kept jumping one size at a time till pot fit. Taking my time and being careful I was able to team out the hole AND not chip the finish.

The reamer tool would have been much easier.
 
I could surely have used one on the no name strat neck, when I went to enlarge it, for tuners I snapped the end for the low E string off, when the bit caught and pulled through.:confused:
I just tight bond glued it back together.
And yes I learned my lesson.
 
I must add I only have really cheap guitars, if I was working on something more valuable I would get the stepped one.
