OK Extreme Sports, Surfer Dudes Let's hear stories and see videos

I ain't got no vidyas but I still have a picture of my bike:

Still got 2 skateboards in my storage area, one's an old Scott Conklin model Alien Workshop deck with Independent trucks and spitfire wheels, can't remember what the other is of the top of my head. I always sucked at skating. Acquired several scars from wiping out all the time.

My knees are not in great shape due to snowboarding. When the slopes were closed, often because of the lack of snow in the early and late seasons, we would hike to the top of the mountain and ride anyway. I remember crashing and my knees going all the way through the snowpack and mashing into the ground itself. Of course, I wasn't great at snowboarding either, so I also remember when the slopes were open, I would crash and my knees would get all mashed up on the hard snowpack as well. I don't know which was worse; I just know that my knees are fvcked now.

Used to be good on a BMX. I liked to ride dirt, and ramps. A good halfpipe is a lot of fun on a BMX.

But a good MX bike is where I've always been most comfortable/better at than the others sports. Gimme a fistful of throttle and a shot of adrenaline and all caution for life and limb gets thrown to the wind. Got a few scars from this one too, but those were all worth it.

Been known to go up on one of these from time to time:

Been years now, but fun as I recall. Kinda scary too.

Oh yeah! I can put together a really mean bowl of cereal, too. That's gotta count for something, right?!

That Yamaha is it a 250 F ??

Blinky, is that a 250 or 450 Yam?

Mitch, I have a 98 KX 250 too. I didn't look closer at the CR 250R , was it a 2 stroke or 4? Or were 2strokes illegal in California by then?

Chili the 2 strokes are CR, the 4 strokes are CRF, 2 strokes are not illegal here, but after 2000, you can’t get a green sticker, that means in certain months, you can’t take the red sticker bikes on public off-road areas.
But private property is still fair game

Hell, Mitch. I am surprised you can still use 2 stroke weedwackers, lawn mowers etc out there let alone dirtbikes.

Based on these sticker statements, I am seeing the govt has it's hands in your cycle $$$ pockets in the way of EPA I presume.
Gotcha on the F designations. Also if I saw the pipes, motors etc better, I could easily tell 2 or 4 stroke.

If you wanna talk big bike. The baddest bike I ever rode, I could barely get out of 2nd gear and into third before jumps, turns or whoops came. My buddy liked my KX250 and bought a KX500 instead. Great bike for Western desert riding, but a MAN's bike for sure in tight East coast riding.

Oh yea, they were beasts, 3 of my buddies had 500’s one CR, the other 2 KX 500’s, I would always chase along on my 250, in the mid 80’s I had an 82 YZ 250, the first year of water cooling.
Man those were the days.
