Dude this CD Fnnn ROCKS!!

I'm on Like No Other Man!

That Bass is just Killer! :dood:
Love the Tone of the Guitar too!! :dood:

Thanks.

The bass is a '78 Rickenbacker 4001 going direct to tape, along with a GK head and a Peavey head plugged into a couple of different cabs, mic'd and to tape.

Most of the main guitar parts were my '69 SG Standard into a JTM 45 and SIlver Jubilee 4 x 12. We used an ancient ribbon mic going to tape.

Drums were an ancient Slingerland set that was the house kit.

We recorded the basic tracks live in a large room that was an old Speakeasy in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston. George Thorogood recorded his first album with Rounder Records in that room. The place itself has a very sordid history. Everything was nailed in the first or second take. Even the solos were done live, as we would play them out. Then rhythm tracks were doubled, rhythm guitar behind the solos, and I hid some Rick 12 string in the back. Jetway Honey was recorded with a Strat. That was only song that was different.

Thank you for sharing! This is even better than the liner notes on the album jackets!

Thanks,

"Like No Other Man" is a Hellacopters cover. I wish I could remember how to play "Don't Fit." Dan wrote it, and the drummer hated it for some reason. I thought it was a funny tune. It's about that one fat guy trying to wedge himself into a full subway car as the door is closing.

man i am in a quandary. have a full blown website.,, multiple FB's,everything is for sale on it..but dont have it on cause of all the legal crap..has me going nutz....and if we do sell it ..how the heck can we be a band again...trying so hard to fix things here,,,me & J had a heart to heart today...i don't think she will be able to sing live.ever again...in all honesty.. guess keep making songs...but i got to get out of this 3 year going nowhere cycle..

we sat in the car at parking lot of Lowe's for 2 hrs & just talked & talked...the poor girl has had her life forever changed due to negligence...man..it hurts....we have all the ingredients to be successful & the contacts..

we vowed to just let it go today....ouch....,my goal is to somehow figure out how to live again...it's all i've known for a long time....run the company & then go play out...
