ARGH!!!!
I came home from work tonight, turned on my computer and POOF!!! No operating system. No C: drive. I went to Best Buy and ordered a 6 TB drive that I should have on Friday. Aside from not being able to work on my client's site, I'm going through digital withdrawals.

Sorry to hear this. Sudden failures are the worst. Maybe you should get an external and mirror software.

I have all my files on a seperate drive. I just need to reinstall windows and my programs.

I came in to work early so I can download windows 10 and burn it to a disk. Also downloading Kaspersky Rescue Disk for those of you that speak geek.

I do have redundant back ups and I always keep my files on a separate drive only using the C: drive for the operating system. In my 25 years of working with computers, I've learned this the hard way. I am surprised that the hard drive failed after only 2 years of service. I usually replace my computer every 3 years.

With a 6 TB HDD going in, replacing the failed 4 TB HDD that was almost full, you can safely guess that I have a lot of programs installed. I have a separate 4 TB drive dedicated to my MP3 music files alone. Another 4 TB drive for my web site back ups.

I'll be a sombitch! I came home and put in my USB drive to boot into Kaspersky and... It booted into windoze. I'm still gonna swap to the new 6TB drive, but not til the weekend and I'm not gonna turn it off until I'm ready to swap.
