Rick Beato breaks down Iconic Artists songs, and gives terrific insight in how these songs were crafted in the studio.

These videos really are an eye and ear opener to what was done. Great videos to glean info from.

I'll post a few that I watched. Really Awesome!

To me, statements like «classic rock is dead» usually sound more like «I haven’t discovered any new music I like in a really lomg time. I guess I must be getting old and not really interested in finding any cool new music anymore.»

Mind you, I haven’t watched the Rick Beato video above yet, so I can’t commemt on that one specifically. But he tends to have a lot of interesting things to say.

This video speaks to the aging Rock Stars we are losing and all the music of the type they made mainstream dwindling away.

Are aging Rock Stars were of there time. As were the performers of all things musical before them, and so on....

Something new, hopefully really good will be birthed.
I don't know if we'll ever see, or hear a band have such an impact as some did.

As much as it is those bands that we adore, its also the things taking place as they were coming up.

Like the invention of the electric guitar, the recording process itself, electric bass, bigger amps, how song structure itself evolved.

This all, and more, played a huge part in separating us from the Big Bands and music are parents listen to. TV was new, radio was
evolving. This new music was as fresh as the times it was coming up in.

Rock n Roll has had a long run.. 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's.
Just think of all the different styles and flavors within just those periods..
I don't mention 2000 and beyond... Really not up on the new stuff.....did I just become like my parents.......

This x100. Seriously, how many times around here are we even discussing music made in this century? Some of the best rock music ever is being made right now, today, and it's more accessible than it's ever been. You just have to want to discover it and get past, well, your past.

Something you just got to keep in mind no matter what decade one is listening to...and not arguing or debating... there are great bands out there now..

No ones discussing music made now, not because its not good, or not out there. Its just not what inspired most to play.

As guitar players, or any musician, one is going to stay with what inspired them to play in the first place. Music is just not listened to alone, its woven into the
very fabric of our lives.

Well said John. That's exactly the way i feel about it. I wouldn't have been able to find the words to express this the way you just did here. (y) :)

I get what you are saying, but if the only music that inspired me was the music I grew up with I probably would have stopped playing by now because it would have become so predictable and boring. What makes it exciting to me as a listener is hearing something that I have never heard before and hopefully being surprised by it.. That then inspires me to play and explore things I may not have thought of.

We all have different things that inspire us, what inspires me is all those songs I grew up with , many happy times mostly, those songs are imbedded in me from the time I was 13 years old, What inspires me now is being able to play some of them, which I never thought I could. And I have only just embarked on playing some of these songs, I have many more to learn, its very stimulating to me, it keeps me going. But not only that, the feeling I get from playing these songs to people of all ages that I play too ,Love these songs as much as I do. What motivates me to play guitar comes from these fans of that erra of music. Its not just the 65 year old's or 70 year old's, Its all kinds of ages. At the Campground where I spend most of my Summer, Everyday when I bring that guitar out to practice, all age groups, stop by and listen 8 year old's 10, 20 , 30s 40s 50s and all ages in between up to the age of 80 want to hear me play that good old classic rocknroll. Many come by young and old and give me compliments on my playing, this is so very encouraging to me. I can't tell you how gratifying it is to have young girls and boys come up to me and ask me if I can show them some chords or stop and ask me if I would play a song for them. RocknRoll is still alive in the realms I travel. They want to hear the Beatles , Stones, Bon Jovi, Clapton and more. The bands that played these songs and some continue to play, Inspired me to play and now its these individuals and friends that Inspire me to continue to play these songs.
