This milk was bought a month ago. It still has almost 2 months to go!
I remember when at best, milk lasted only ten days....

Oh, it needs to be refrigerated alright. The best before date is usually about two weeks.

If it still smells okay, it's good. If there were enough bacterial growth to make you sick, it'd smell nasty.
FYI: Some packaged products which can be stored at room temperature have been irradiated. No residual radioactivity remains, but the bacteria are all killed off. These products are often marked with the radura symbol, which sorta looks as if it could mean "all natural" but actually indicates the food has been irradiated.
Not all of the foodstuffs which are routinely treated with radiation are required to show the radura symbol.

It's fine, drink it...
If it's off, you'll know very easily by the horrible smell. Make a cup of tea/coffee, if there's floaty bits of goo then it's no good, but it sounds 100% fine to me. Sour milk will make you vomit and might give send you to the toilet, but it's not gonna harm you.

Even though it has this long best buy date, I still don't trust it.
