1 year without a DSL or SLX....time for some new type songs, maybe more up my alley.. Sitting on the 1960bv cab loaded with first run Vintage & t75 in X pattern. Its a great set up. Also, just did some low volume playing..very good for practice. DSL 50.jpgDSL 50 rear.jpgDSL 50 stack.jpg

Great. Getting nice tones at low volumes is soo nice, just adds an option. It's kinda weird that a lot of the smaller 1w, 4w, 5w, etc, tube amps don't do low volume tones that well (probably a lot due to the inbuilt speakers that many come with).

Being an Ipswich Town fan, I do like the made in Ipswich Celestions.

Nice score, BFT. If you ask me, you just can't go wrong with a DSL.

Dammit man! Stop making me need to buy more amps. I have actually been running my TSL for the last week. Does the DSL not have the crunch channel? Congrats on the new amp!
The DSL does indeed have a crunch "channel" so to speak...the DSL (dual super lead) has two channels: clean and lead. These two channels have two "modes" per channel: clean/crunch (pushbutton chooses which) and the lead channel is designated OD1/OD2 (also pushbutton chooses which) both these channels share the EQ section. Channels can be switched back and forth with footswitch (but not the "modes")
The TSL (Triple super lead) is more or less the same....except the clean channel is a dedicated clean channel with it's own EQ, crunch (OD1) has a dedicated channel with it's own EQ, and the lead (OD2) also has a dedicated channel and it's own EQ. No mode switching.

So: DSL = 2 channels w/mode switching and shared EQ, TSL = 3 channels and individual EQ.

I have them both and I love them both but the TSL I have has always been a problem child. I've actually considered an honor killing for it...might be a mailbox soon, but I digress...
The TSL's obvious advantage is the individual EQs. If I dial in a crunch sound I like with the DSL, and then I want to switch to the lead channel, the EQ settings remain the same, because shared EQ between channels. Not so with the TSL because each channel has it's own EQ section....if that makes sense. I just woke up so please forgive my nonsense if there's any here lol

I do really love my DSL though.

Also used to have a JCM2000 DSL401, but it lives with my dad now. When I started really getting into guitar as a young whippersnapper he must have been bitten by the bug too, cause he started playing guitar also. I used to come home from school and sometimes I would find him in my bedroom playing MY guitar. My mom and I promptly got together and got him his own stuff. Course, as we all do, eventually he wanted to upgrade his amp, so I gave him that old 401. I already had a few extra amps at that point.

My dad's name is Galen. So we call him Van Galen now
