Out Of My Comfort Zone

Last week a guitar-playing friend of mine asked me to help him lay down some tracks at a studio. The studio is owned by another one of his friends. Supposedly, this guy has all the amps, so I really just need my guitars and whatever else I want to bring.

I gotta confess...

I’m a little nervous!

I don’t even know what kind of songs we’ll be doing or even how soon this will be.

I’ve messed around a little in the studio, but not much, and it’s been a long time.

Some people are nervous about playing live. That’s never been my problem. I have zero stage fright and no performance anxiety.

I‘m very comfortable playing live.

But, this is gonna stretch me a bit....which is a good thing!

Enjoy !! I love it..get super psyched every time for it. If anything..you get to hyper focus on the part & make it right in the context it is in.

You are going in with a friend & surely they will help you with the structure ..

Ask him for some of the songs now if you can. I am not one for pre planning the leads, but know the progressions .Like to react to the emotion..but usually the key scale or progressions are worked out as a guideline. I can't imagine anyone going in blind without preparing...it's costly .get some cheat sheets or scratch tacks if you can. Enjoy it..it's a great time & it's addictive !

That sounds great! Nothing improves your playing or confidence more than being in a situation that makes you a little nervous.
