So I learned something

Yesterday I had an invite to jam with a bassist and drummer in my age group, there was no material for me to focus on.
And the guys just said we would go from scratch.
You guys all know me , and how I play mostly my own stuff, as you can see this could lead to a disaster. Well it went fairly well, we played on about 10 of my tunes, and about 10 different covers that I at least had a bit of knowledge on, I explained that I am a rhythm guitarist not much of a lead player.
This probably only going to be a 2 times a month project, but I am going to have to relearn some of the covers we ran through, it was a great time and I do hope I passed the audition.
Cheers

Hope it works out. Playing with other people is sometime more psychological than the actual playing part. It's all about the chemistry, and how well everyone feels with each other. Playing music is often like sex, where a bad partner turns off the entire act. If they felt comfortable with you, and you with them... then I'm sure they'll want to get you back to lay down some ground work to get some other folks in the mix.

That would be fantastic, as I work better with a second guitarist.
We shall see how it pans out.
The bassist is actually a better guitar player than I am, but he wants to play bass, and just with a little bit of eye contact and just staying in sight, we were able to pull together quite well I thought.

Nice!
Relax and enjoy it; I would like an invite like that but would also feel intimidated by it.

Jammed with my brother a little a few years ago, but thats it.
We had a total falling out or I would probably have been all along.
He has played in bands with paying gigs.

I did my best, but I tend to forget parts of my own songs if I don’t play them regularly, let alone covers I have not played in 25 years lol, thanks for the confidence boost.
Cheers
