Equipment I find useful

I decided a year ago now to purchase this Amp with P.A system. The Fishman mini loudbox has proven to be an asset for me. Don't let the mini fool you this thing is powerful at 60 watts. Even though its an acoustic amp , it works well with my Electric guitars. Its hard to believe the good tones it puts out with having the P.A also. Since I do gigs on my own, this beast does the job well. Its compact and light which I like , nothing worse than lugging around gear that weighs...…. you know what I mean. Great for small gigs, one of the best purchases I have ever made.DSC00156.JPGDSC00155.JPG

Good thread idea. I like being challenged to think outside of my Marshall box. There is so much equipment out there that I have never tried.
think this way jus once--pandoras box opens up with song writing & Guitars respond so cool-slightyly dif than marshall..when i get in a slump i go to the other..there we go for a spell then switch back..never get bored cause they respond so dif & challenge you to play the amp.. think i grew so much as a writer just playing semi hollow into a fender & catching edge of break up with a klon(thanks RVA)..it's the perfect partner for Marshall. Let each do what they do best on their own..not forcing one to be like the other. 3Fenders (2).jpg

That Pro Reverb gives me GAS. I had one for a couple of years and it was easily the best-sounding Fender amp I have ever owned. Def regret letting that one go.

f i could get everybody one of these ....for useful piece of gear, that i have got ..that is used on every amp.....RVA sent me a clip of a Klon CL.And i was able to discern exactly what that pedal was doing. Had been bidding on a few & this thing popped up. It has the most volume i ever seen added to an amp that stays clean or can use to be gritty. A Klon to me is a clean or a treble boost..in Fender it can break your amp at a precise point you want by adjusting gain/vol back n forth..Marshall..you can crank the crap out of a 4 holer & bring the Vol down with Volume knob then adjust gain to put it right where you want it. I call it a precision device or an adjuster..it was $25....i have some decent pedals but this became the fixer of all things. I don't use it as a tone shaper but a tone precision...put the amp where you want it..then use to really get your tone spot on.

oh, on BUG V22 it made it a 3 channel amp. It's not a radical pedal as far a tone change ..but all the ingredients are in it to bring the best out of the amp. The tone knob is slow on the sweep..yes that is what i really meant...all 3 knobs sweep slow..and gradually add or take away with tons of headroom or movement within it's parameters. Keep in mind i play tube amps at break level for main tone so i look for a pedal that fine tunes that.
on guitar my crunch is set on 7 then i dime for leads. About 5 it cleans up fairly decent(fender yes marshall not quite. but so cool , like a snarl on the clean)klon (2).jpg

Mine was a '73, but I tend to prefer Silverface amps anyway.
mine is 73 also ...my tech was going to blackface it..but after i played it..was blown away ! told him can ya make normal chan break earlier..and not do anything else..the Weber's completely changed that amp . He did something to make it breaking about 3 on volume & it starts OD just like my 74 Super..just saturates more and more. It's like 2 amps...

Yeah...there's something about the "early" Silverface amps that just works for me. Blackface amps always sounds and feel "brittle" to me when I play them, Silverface more organic somehow.
How long you had that amp? Wonder if you got mine, haha. I sold it in '93 I believe.

Picked it up in Chili's land. Baltimore MD but the guy was from Pittsburgh PA. He had the 2 Webers but didn't know how to hook em up. Saw it on CL & we played tag over the weekend..he was following one of those jam bands at a festival.I met him at 695 split off Rt83. It had blown speakers in it. It fired up(have inverter in my vehicle.) Wanted to keep following the band but was broke. He goes..out of nowhere..$550...done...

I still lived in MD when I sold it, so...you never know

Anyway they are killer amps. I like them a lot more than Twins if just for the earlier breakup and slightly lower weight.

For some reason I keep getting reminders lately of how great Silverface amps sound. I've been playing nothing but high-gain, channel-switching amps for over 20 years but possibly getting a twitch about a Princeton or something similar.

me too..i go Marshall untill i start downtuning & get heavier & heavier,,but less musical by the day..then i play silverfaces & tend to get songs easier..write songs to full chords much better. I think fenders just have a natural pocket to lay a voice in.

Well, you manics convinced me. At lunch today I stopped by Sam Ash and grabbed one of these:

It's been a long time since I have owned a Fender and I am really looking forward to getting reacquainted with that sound. Been nothing but high-gain monsters for a while now, so this should be fun.
I also couldn't resist and grabbed one of these to put in front and make it a "2 channel" amp:

Congrats on the new amp and pedal. Will be waiting to hear your review at the amp.
