Not sure if you have had your strap slip off one of your Beauties. If you have then you know it could be ugly. I have tried a couple of different ways of keeping my strap attached to my guitars. These locking Dunlop's, I have been using now for the past year, I have not had one fail so far, and they are dirt cheap. Just slip over the strap and turn to lock.

Never have seen those, they look quite interesting....
I have Schallers and never have had an issue....But than again, I have heard some that have lost their guitars with em...Guess I am lucky, or just have good Karma..:bash:
 
They made some nice leather straplocks in the 80s that are on most of my guitars. Otherwise, I use the gaskets off of Grolsch and some German beer bottles. Every time you buy a gasket, it comes with a free bottle of beer to drink.
 
Dunlop push button locks on my electrics. Seem to work okey dokey. Haven’t dropped one of those due to strap coming loose.

I did have my Ovation head south one night when the strap came loose. It was an extremely cheap strap. Once I got a really nice leather strap for it, never had a problem since. Of course.... I tend not to do gymnastics when I play.

My 6 string Peavey bass arrived with a set of those installed on the strap that came with it. I haven’t decided on my opinion of them yet, as the strap is not adjustable, and is short enough to be nearly ridiculous on me.
 
IMO there has never been a better solution than the old Grolsch washer trick

I've personally had Dunlops fail and seen Schallers and other solutions drop guitars. Never once have I seen a guitar slip that was using one of these and the best part is if you need new ones you get to drink beer (or cheat and just buy them separately).
 
I've used the schaller or dunlop strap locks for a long time now, but those Fender strap blocks look like something I may wanna try. I wonder if musicians friend has them on sale. Hmm, me thunks I'll's takes a look see...

Although the Dunlops make for better defense if you gotta take to swinging around your guitar strap to fend off all the groupies...
 
I have some of the Fender ones that are dry rotting after maybe 3 years.
Another vote for the Grolsch washer here.
Need to watch: the rubber washers sometimes work the screws loose.

I have used Dunlops; they work well but I find them bulky and expensive.

I've been using them for many years for all my guitars.
So far no problem whatsoever.
For that price, I always have some new lying around if I need it.

Cool deal - one thing I like is the fact they are soft.
I'm can be like a bull in china closet at times, so softer strap locks could be more ding proof for me - lol.
I noticed there are generic versions of them, have you tried those before?
 
I play 99.999 percent of the time seated-- I own a nice leather guitar strap...its around here someplace -- was one of them Close out deals or something and decided I should have one-- but the 2 herniated discs in my back make standing and playing (especially with some of the Gibson and Peavey ANCHORS I have) not very fun--- plus there are usually 300-500 lbs worth of DOGS littering my floor-- moving-- playing -- scratching-- chasing an amp cord.........fighting over the amp cord "toy" ------

seated, is just ............................safer

I generally play leaned back in my recliner, but I still want my strap locks - I just know one day, one day I might just play with real people again and may even stand up playing...
