Where do you want to be in winter?

I want to be on a beach on the island of Crete, drinking retsina, small parlour guitar at my side.

HEre

Florida’s winters tend to be mild, as if actively trying not to make any sudden moves lest their population get nervous and start throwing alligators

Alligator throwing is on Thursdays only as a warm up to the Portuguese knife fights

I currently live in Maryland. Its winters suit me fine, except I would like a little more snow like I used to experience in northern Illinois where I grew up.

I'm a four-seasons type of guy. I want snow in winter, budding trees in spring, green in summer, and vibrant colors in autumn.

I'd get bored in southern states...too little variety through the seasons.

he's sick,, send him to the funny farm.

I'll stay in NYC thank you.
We have this thing here.
We call it weather.
One day 63 and sunny.
Next Day a foot of snow.
Ice storm that night.
Rain all the next day
Today 50 and sunny.
Never a dull moment.

West Oz is a lot like So Cal... Similar "mediterranean" like climate.
Hot and humid in Summer, mild winters. No real fall or spring.
I'd rather be in Switzerland in winter, skiing or snowboarding in Zermatt or Klosters. If not in Switzerland, then somewhere like Montana or Colorado.
In summer, LA or SF. Perth is basically a large town with the "small town" attitude. Life is pretty boring, and there isn't a lot to do here.
Nothing really ever happens here, as it's too far away from the main cities in Australia, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Sunny, beautiful Broken Hill!!!!!!

I love it here in Lake Arrowhead. Pine trees, all manner of critters, snow...then in 30 minutes, you are down the hill in a major city...

Now you know why I said Smitty needs to see a psychiatrist. He thinks women can wear bikini's in the snow and probably thinks motorcycle riding in the snow might be a walk in the park too.

Bikini volleyball in the snow?
That sound like a waste of perfectly good snow.

Tony, And here I used to think my step brother was crazy for skiing in shorts out in Colorado when his ski days might get above 50-60 degrees or some crazy shiz like that.

High in the Alps, girls in bikinis skiing or just sunbathing are a pretty normal sight. Sunburn can be a real problem though because the air is so thin, and the effect is doubled up by reflections off the snow. When I go skiing I usually find that by midday I'm down to a tee shirt for my top half. And even that is hot.

Don, I can understand all but no covering on the lower extremities. When I used to ski in Colorado and here in the East, having good cover on my legs and bum were essential from whenever I would not stay on my feet in moguls etc.

PS. I posted another PM in our Amp conversation if you have a few moments to review. Thanks

Yes, these girls will not be pounding the mogul fields - they are there for the social side, and will probably not ski anything harder than an interesting red (about equivalent to something around US black or black diamond), so they aren't in danger of falling over.

I'll reply to your mail a little later
