Yes indeed, but GM is the only one claiming "America's Sports Car." I would doubt anything GM told me.

When Dad had a mid-sixties Corvette, with something like a 36 gallon fuel tank, i still preferred my 427 Tunnel Port Fairlaine because the Fairlane was both quicker and faster.

It was never ever beaten.

I do enjoy my Fords. I always have. Won a good deal of money with an 'FE' on the racetrack.

I think its probably why i preferred Ford - because they made me a good livin'... :-)

I'll admit that Ford has had some stylish and fast cars, so has Chevy. Truth be told I'm an old school Mopar guy, but Chrysler is just not the company that it used to be. I owned a 70 challenger and a 71 Cuda. I like the looks of the new Challenges, but would never consider buying one.

This NASTY BEAST has only been beat by a fueler once....

Most engine parts were built in the USA..
But honestly I could give a rats a$$ where the parts were built if all the comp just see’s the REAR..

As for Bowtie n Dodge our good ole American Muscle is no match for Italian or any other fancy dream cars on the drag strip...

So go Bowtie, Ford, n Dodge...:wrench:A8C27CCC-8240-4E6B-9C19-B07952A68573.jpeg

How could one not LOVE this?
With our American Hillbilly know how, we will make this new addition to world just pounce on those fancy 200k plus fancy cars on the circuit quiver when someone pulls this white bear out of a hauler to put it on the track:pound-hand::love::pound-hand:

I was a MoPar NUT as a kid and into my early 20's.

I had a Hemi 4 speed 1970 Challenger with the overhead console. A rare machine. I was am absolute 'Vanishing Point' freak too...

Back in the 1980's/1990's, at one point, I acquired (3) 1969 Chargers (an RT/SE, a '500' and a Daytona), a 1967 Hemi Coronet R/T and a 1968 Hemi GTX, and all in a time when these cars could be had for very little money.

I do really LOVE the retro look of the Challenger, but what bothers me about it, is all the Mercedes-Benz suspension parts. Maybe that's just silly of me, but it's like buying a Mercedes when you find all of that stuff in there.

Did you know that BMW bought Rolls-Royce and the nice, big Rolls-Royce is just a re-badged 7 Series??? If you raise the car on a hoist, there are BMW markings everywhere and all the suspension parts are direct interchange. If you pop the 'RR' cover off the V-12 engine, it reveals all the BMW markings. Same with Bentley - it's all Audi underneath.

That's 'fake' bullshit - to me - is dishonest and I hate it....

Well, I think because it is such a strong effort to copy the Italians, while at the same time trying to say it's 'innovative.' Flat Plane V8, Mid-Engine, Etc...it's stuff the Italians have been doing for better than 30 years. Not to mention, they are going to cut costs to sell it to the masses....which is why all the China produced components...gotta make it cheap.

The second thing that disturbs me is GM's historical engine failures and their REFUSAL to correct the metallurgical problems in the 'LS' series engines and that they CONTINUE to blame the engine oil for the problem.

Keep in mind that in both cases - where the Corvette engines failed in 6 and 891 miles respectively, GM replaced BOTH those engines, because they KNEW it was a design flaw.

I'm just not impressed...but, to each their own...

first pic I saw I thought it WAS a McLaren!

Hmmmm....

No, it looks like an Italian design, mixed with some American perversion to try and pitch it as 'innovative.' I guess because I spent so much time working with exotics that when I look at the new Corvette, its such a parody...

I have never been impressed with their motors, so I would buy the car, yank the power plant n put in my own muscle that would make the car come alive..

But the look of the car is just stunning...

After some American Hillbillies get ahold of these bodies and tweak the suspension and power plants those Italian supercars will shake when one comes out of a hauler @ the track...

Kind of like what Ford did with the GT40.
