I finally sold my Pelham blue epi-sg with lyre vibrola... I don't feel bad about it either, got some good money due to it being a Limited Edition... but now my arsenal is one less....for a few days...because!

This will be arriving soon!!

That's one of the things I like about it, it uses a Buzz Feiten Tuning System, the active blackouts which is reversed which going through interviews Michale found he liked by accident when he installed the neck pickup in the bridge and the bridge pickup in the neck, its an 80's looking guitar while still having a modern V shape. Understandably it's not everyone's cup of tea but as soon as I saw it, like my other V, I had to have it. That and I really like Stryper and his solo albums :)

Nice score metal.
Post up a thread when you have had a chance to become aquatinted with it.
Cheers Mitch

TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL....horns...that is ;) AND CONGRATS
1. love the look of that thing
2. Loves me some Stryper!

Thanks!! I’m a sucker for 80’s looking guitars. Might of gotten the Satchel Charvel but I think those were discontinued.

I love Stryper, and the two Sweet solo albums I’ve listened to are really good, very stryperish.

I’m just trying to decide if I want to leave this in standard E or use it to drop down to C. I know that the pickup that’s voiced for the neck position is in the bridge so it’s going to sound fat already..just something I’m going to decide afterI spent some time with it.

I have a neck pup in my bridge position on a DC Jr....gives it a rounder fatter bottom and smooths out the "ice picky" ;)
I had the opposite experience with a SD Jazz I put in a EPI G400, the pickups were part of a hot rod set I had purchased and I had already used the JB in another guitar.
I quickly pulled it and purchased another JB and all was good.
Cheers Mitch

Before I pushed the "Take my money" button, I went on youtube and listened to the comparison videos of the Seymour Duncan blackouts and EMG 81-85 sets. the blackouts have a bit of a fatter sound already. On top of that, I already have two floyd rose equipped guitars equipped specifically for drop D so I want this guitar to fill the role of another tuning. Michale Sweet says that the swapped pickups gives his guitars a fat "Les Paul" Tone. Either way I'm excited to play with it.

Yea, he went from Jackson, to Charvel, to something else, then around 2015-2016 he contacted Washburn and he said that they were super nice which was a big selling point for him so he decided to go with them. He also had a firebird/explorer type model with the only other thing it had that the v doesnt is locking tuners, which he did because it cuts down on winding up the string.

They‘ve done some cool covers, too. Here’s one from “The Covering” album:

And Rob Halford‘s positive reaction to Stryper covering Judas Priest:
