Why didn't someone warn me?

As I delve deeper and deeper into DAW based recording I've stumbled many, many times.

It seems as I learn one new helpful thing, it shows me ten more that I know nothing about. Have never studied a subject and actually become dumber lol.

This weeks lessons are sidechaining compressors, and using transient shapers for drums. Wow, what a subject, but it's starting to match what I hear in my head, finally.

As usual, if any of you more experienced, more knowledgeable people have any tips, instructions etc,,, bring "em on. Always looking to broaden my knowledge base.

Peace
Steve

I use a $229.00 Focusrite 2i2 setup from E-bay and a copy of Audacity on a common Windows based PC.

That's it...

Listen to PERFECT STRANGERS - DEMO by Von Herndon on #SoundCloud

Its better than what i have, but is it really necessary?????

Nice Robert, as usual.
@jtcnj , I mention talent, and BANG. Mr.Talent hisself posts another great track.

Thanks Robert for always being there when I have a question, having someone of your caliber to bounce ideas off of is invaluable.
Great- great track, proof you don't need a bunch of fancy, expensive gear. Just ambition, talent and hard work. Love that song BTW.
Thanks brotha.

Thanks, Man....Not really talent, but having my little home studio have me a first rate education in how to make things sound decent....im just sharing what i have done with $230.00 worth of gear.

I realize there are guys who can smoke my prodction, but for an average joe with basic gear, its decent...

Oh, and it is talent, I understand you wanting to be humble and all but.......I calls it as I sees it. Talent.
