Is that why there is not much volume output? I thought I had a wiring issue. Oh, yeah, I do! There isn't any wiring yet!In my honest opinion I would say MOST certainly USE PICKUPS --

I am hoping my push-pull and dual concentric pots and caps arrive today so I can start wiring. I already have the Fender 3-way for pickup switching, although I also have a 4-way too. Hmmmmm…………………………………………………………!
I decided to go with 2 push-pull volumes for coil splitting and a dual concentric pot for individual tone control, all with Tele style knurled chrome barrel knobs, as seen above.
I forgot to mention that the control cavity has been shielded and I am considering shielding the trem cavity as well, only to prevent the dreaded static that sometimes happens due to the trem cover.
I am running low on the copper shielding tape from Stew Mac and don't want to order some more as the shipping costs are brutal! I used regular aluminum tape combined with the copper shielding tape to ensure continuity. I will do the same with the trem cavity and cover. It gives a nice 2 tone colour scheme!

Wouldn’t you know it, a problem right off the bat! Get it? Bat?
It’s almost Halloween folks. Work with me here!
In all seriousness, there is really an issue. I ordered the concentric tone pot assuming it would have the same thread depth as the regular pots. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Of course it doesn’t.
The body has a 1/4” quilted maple top. The pot must be meant for mounting on a pick guard which means the threaded portion is nowhere near long enough. F&$k!
I guess for now I will be going with a single tone pot until I can sort this out.

I want to thank everyone for all of their suggestions around what neck pick up would be suitable. I appreciate all the responses and I really feel that an Anderson H1+ would probably have been perfect.
I decided though to go with something that was readily available here locally. I have chosen to go with a Seymour Duncan Jazz for the time being. The combo of the Jazz/JB make up the “Hotrodded Humbucker” set so we shall see how it works out.

Ninja, here's the trick for using the short threaded concentric pots. I've done 4 builds using this. You need a wood dowel the size of the shaft opening. Put the dowel in the hole and use the Forstner bit to counter sink from the inside.
