Electronic Audition:

NDA's are very common in contract negotiations even with smaller bands.

I've been out of the game for a while, never had anyone approach with something like that - even when I did gigs with established bands their music was already copywritten, and more importantly published and available...what would they think I could "disclose" that wouldn't be evident with a listen to the CD, other than maybe they're jerks? Someone came at me with something like that and I'd run for the hills, but then again, I'm a million miles away from trying to make money with music at this point in my life and only do it for fun so...

It's more for the discussion of salary than anything else. The NDA is almost always generated by the label and they generally mention "the discussion or public revelation of salary and/or monetary compensation packages is prohibited." The identity of the band - and the fact they are looking for new personnel is also generally mentioned...

Probably true!

Funny thing is that I have always heard horror stories about playing in "worship" bands. Never done it but have known a lot of people who did, for one reason or another, and it always sounded awful to me (aside from the musical selections). No judgment on my part for anyone that wants to do it, but it seems like the kind of gig you'd really have to want to do.
We a band that believes !
