Yesterday, I drove the usual 125 mile (round trip) commute to band rehearsal. I don't mind the drive, really, but the stop & go traffic along every route I take, just makes the drive feel so much longer and farther than it really is. I also got the acoustic with the broken neck that I repaired back to it's owner, which frees up more space here in my music room. So, in the 2 hours I had to spend in the car, I did a lot of thinking while listening to old music from the 1980's.
As much as I love this current band and lineup, the commuting is really starting to get to me. For some reason, finding the 'right' musicians, means you may not find them locally - kinda like fresh produce - it's not always easy to find.
As it stands, with my job at the studio, I am commuting as much as 4 hours a day, and traffic is always bad. As much as I want to move away from that job completely, I am yet unable to replace the income from that position.
Just rambling....
