Help Me Pick 6 Covers For The Upcoming CD:

We just finished '"Rockin' In The Free World" this morning, but had some trouble with the drums and my acoustically hostile home studio....not gonna share it publicly until we work the bugs out, but will PM to people not afraid to be assaulted sonically..

Well, let me share something with you...Honestly, I wanted to scrap "Rockin' In The Free World." I just hated everything about it. There are mistakes - of course all tracks being done in one take - but those can be re-visted. My dislike with it I guess is that I just don't like how I sound as a lead vocalist. So, with some prodding from my drummer pal, we had our producer friend listen to it. I was shocked at what he said. "I love it! It sounds like the wentire band is pissed off!"

naturally, the discussion then turned to vocal timing anomalies and the splashy drums tracks, guitars too dominant in the mix, etc., but I guess he felt like the song - at the very least - was a good fit for my inability to sing...

Nothing wrong with that. And I never said anything before, but that may be my least favorite Neil Young song ever. I'd rather hear a heavy version of 'Old Man' or any of the zillion other badass songs he recorded than the one that sounds a throwaway for a pep rally.

Ok...first time recording drums in my acoustically hostile home studio. Very splashy cymbals and the bell tree cam loose and started jangling, so the drums will need to be re-tracked.

I was trying for a Phil Spector sound, so i tracke 4 bass parts and 6 rhythm guitar parts, all panned left and right at odd and varying percentages.

Im singing all vocals. You can hear Lemmy on left speaker.
