Got my daily Stew Mac email this morning and saw an ad for this setup.
I like the concept, especially how it keeps the guitar off the surface.
The price for the jigs is a bit high I think, even with the FREE PDF to build the work table.
Being able to use your case is slick though.

I honestly don't know if that would work for me or not, It would basically raise my work space up to a point it would be to uncomfortable. Plus a clean towel works wonders....

personally I just use 4 rubber wedge door stops.
You can see them in pics from when I was working on my G&L awhile back.

When i do guitar tech work live, most of it is done standing so you can watch the guitarist. Sometimes you have no table...

There seem to be hundreds of neck supports. Many seem easy to fabricate.

Interesting idea but I would opt for simple items at hand to protect and steady the work.

As for the neck rest.....
I will have to take a sharpie to the couple of pieces of 2x4 and 1x4 on my bench and write "Custom Stacking Guitar Neck Rest System, patent pending".

I suppose it is nice to have specific purpose items, if they work better or are really the right tool for the job, and the home DIY stuff just aint quite cutting it.
Nut slot files, crowning files, stuff like that.
Though an experienced hand with a triangle file may scoff at the fancy u-channel type crowning file for the same reasons.

I'm also a "clean towel" guy, one folded in half to lay the guitar on, one folded to support the neck. Even motel/pub rooms have clean towels. Cheers
