Speaking of which, we here in Brazil often eat roast turkey dressed with honey (or Karo corn syrup), pineapple and peaches. Brazilians call this recipe "Peru à Califórnia" (California style Turkey), but I never really saw it in any American book or website. Do you guys in the US eat it like that?

We use Karo corn syrup and red food dye in October to make fake blood for Halloween here in California.Hell... Even in California, we don't eat turkey like that! I think Karo corn syrup is banned in California too...![]()
Maybe it's high fructose corn syrup that's banned there? HFCS is chemically altered, a very different thing from plain old corn syrup. Not great when used as a sweetener to cut costs, but in smaller amounts it can do very good things for the texture of baked goods.Hell... Even in California, we don't eat turkey like that!
