Hi I'm a New Guy and Im a Guitaraholic....

I spend 3.5 to 4 hours per day commuting to an 8 hour a day job. heavy traffic both ways to the point I take surface streets because the freeway is just too crowded

Same here on the surface streets! I don't commute far any more but I used to (Redondo Beach to DTLA) and I took surface streets most of the time to avoid the freeway. Now, I go on meetings 4-5 times a month to LA/Century City/Irvine and I still take surface streets when I have to go downtown or to CC.

Hello everyone, I just joined this forum yesterday and I want to thank the admins and fist few peeps I've heard from on here for the warm welcome.
Not sure what the culture of this forum is just yet but I really like what I see so far. Cool threads and passionate people....

I live in Los Angeles and I while I got my Bachelors of Music at the University of Miami via a guitar scholarship a long time ago, I only play now for the love of it.

In the past few years I've decided to start trading my collection of guitars down to just great versions of my hero's replicas with a few work horses
and settle in on just a few amps & pedals. It's time to get rid of crap that I don't need and have fun with a few that I have.

My quest now is to collect a few GREAT iconic guitars and personally get them signed however I can.
Buying signed guitars is always an over priced nightmare of squires and cheap copies and sometimes even the big companies are going overboard.

I hope my posts about my fan boy missions to get autographs mixed in with my own personal quest for tone are not that off topic or too much for people.

My favorite guitar that I play is a 1990 Samick made Epiphone Sheraton II with Classic 57's.
I also have a 1993 Ebony neck version with Jason Lollar pickups.
My first love of guitars was a 1979 Strat when I was a kid.

My favorite amps are vintage Supros.
With my two favorites being a vintage 1606 Super Oval speaker
&1600 Supreme modded with an extra input stage and a matching n external red tolex 10" cabinet.

I have worked in the music industry for years in various capacities from studio owner to label executive and feel blessed to have a beautiful wife, two sons and a recording studio in the house. Here are some of my guitars that were on loan to an event in Malibu.

Welcome

ANOTHER NEW GUY! --- man I hope he brought BEER! ;)

Welcome Iconic -- I enjoyed the Slash post -- I think the Randy Rhodes guitar is way to "pointy" if you have children -- you should send it to me for safe keeping till they retire ;)

Sadly the first two guitars ( from Left to Right) in the picture of the Malibu Show were sold to make room for other stuff in the herd.
The Ron Wood L5S #4 and The Randy Inspired V are now in new homes safely away from my children. ;)

I really love the Randy Rhoads Polka Dot V's super distortions and that Guitar has a real magick to it, but strangely on this build, the neck join and the neck pickup cavity were done differently than Randy's. I'm not the only person to point out that Karl seems to vary on these things and of course Karl see's these as "evolutionary improvements" but he also positions them as tributes at the same time.

I didn't even order the Ebony fretboard "Upgrade" as he put it. And by the time I found out about the variance the guitar was done.
I'm sure if I order it again, he and I will see eye to eye on the initial specifications and he will do a great job.
Karl is a very sweet and kind man, in a small luthier shop with more demand than he can produce. God bless him.
Sellers in Japan buy from him like 10 at time and double the prices. So if you want a real one, get your order in soon just make sure you are on the same page.

The Signed Ron Wood L5S #4 also had a buyer that was a Stones freak like me and unlike the Keith signed custom shop I was willing to part with it.
Everything else except the EVH is now signed.
