Actually, they claw into the dead trees looking for carpenter ants after they eat all my blueberries and raspberries.

No matter how much I love you, I will never call a squirrel a Prairie Dog.

I might try to canoe out and visit the beavers tomorrow. Yes, I really own a swamp. You Florida boys have it easy.

Being up at the cabin right now I have access to different pictures that I keep on the computer up here. This was early November 2011 at a Boundary Waters entry point 15 miles from here by road about a month or so after the Pogami Creek fire that was huge.

I know it's not a great picture, but I shot this out the kitchen window back in 2013. Yes, that is a wolf out there on my snowshoe trail.

Grouse hunting trip today. Seen 4 but couldn't get a shot. All within a 1/2 hour of my front door. I love this time of year because the colors are amazing. The little spot of snow to the left of the ATVs was a welcoming sight. It wont be long.....

I was walking out in the backyard on Sunday and had a ruffed grouse take off about 10 feet from me. Nearly gave me a heart attack.

Ha that's awesome. It can be a bit of a scare for a second if you aren't expecting it. Usually when I'm walking around in the woods I have a bad vision of a bear eating my face for lunch and then a Grouse blows out.....
