Morning Coffee

Have not heard of it before. Looked it up, seems their claim to fame is a high caffeine content, which would make me jittery. I've had to switch to lighter roasts over the last 4-5 years so I don't think this one would be for me but let us know how it is when you try it.


I'm ADHD. I can chug espresso shots and go to sleep with the glass still in my hand...
 
For me more is not necessarily better either.
I sometimes drink tea in the late afternoon to help me be alert during practice.
Only because I have been so damn tired, chronically it seems.
Then even though I am very tired, I have trouble staying asleep.

I have been improving my sleep habits and quality the last few weeks and am starting to see / feel the benefit.

Lighter roasts usually have more caffeine. Caffeine is burned off in the roasting process. The longer the roast the darker and bolder flavour and less caffeine.

I've been drinking more coffee during the day than usual. I broke my foot almost three weeks ago, and between the lost sleep from the pain and having to get through the days the caffeine has helped a lot. Worst thing though is I haven't been able to work out since it happened, which has had the biggest effect on how I feel: my days start with 45 to 60 minutes in the gym every day. Since I haven't been able to go I have been listless, achy, losing weight, unable to focus. Exercise is such an important part of my life that having it gone, even temporarily, is really hurting me and making me ingest a lot more caffeine than normal and creating a cyclical problem. Can't wait to get back in the gym.

I purchase whole-bean coffee from a roaster that lists the relative caffeine levels of their various roasts. When I say lighter what I mean is less caffeine not necessarily a lighter taste profile.
