Hum Cancelling Single Coil Wanted:

No....:BH:

I have been gassin for one for quite some time now, than I broke my hand and collar bone so no guitar for more time without...

But when the club on my hand and sling comes off, that will be my next ....

The only noiselss Strat pickups I've that I like had are the Kinmans. Don't like most hum free singlecoils at all, but the Kinmans are recognizably Stratty and quite quiet. Not sure about the internals so I can't say whether they'd be a good candidate for reworking. Also, they're pricey.

I've heard the YJMs are pretty good but have never owned any. Thay do have exposed poles but I don't know whether they're actually rod mags - could be slugs with a bar mag underneath.

No bar magnets on DiMarzios. See photo above.

Looking for a hum cancelling single coil (Strat type) for a project. I plan on altering the windings, so it should be a cheapo and needs to have exposed pole pieces.

Thanks...
There is no such thing as a hum cancelling single coil. (sometimes these are called "stacked single coil," but they are 2 coils not single.)
It's actually 2 coils not a single coil PU.
These 2 coils are wired in series to make a humbucking pickup. (usually has 4 conductor wiring + shield).
The best one is probably the Gatton design JBE pickup.
This PU sounds just like a stock Fender strat PU but the noise is cancelled, the output is about doubled...

You are correct, I just use the term out of habit....

This man is preaching one of my favorite sermons!

This is a point I make frequently, as well.

Robert, I have those Iron Gear Strat Sets. I'm pretty sure the middle pickup is reverse wound if that's what you are looking for.

PM me...

I interpret this as you saying you want a Humbucker in a single coil wrapper. Single coil sized HUMBUCKER pup but quiet and sounds like a HUMBUCKER not a SINGLE coil sound as Robert Despises Single coil sound.

Well, I want to make a stacked humbucker for a chum's Stratocaster, and I been looking for a used one, because I need to grind the magnets down to get rid of the wolf tone inducing, vintage stagger.

Guess I am not following a stacked humbucker. SO his guitar body has to be extra deep to accept a double deep single?

Now I see it
