Auditioning a new singer

My buddy Jim and I auditioned a new singer last night. I think she will be a great addition. Neither Jim nor I are comfortable as a lead singer. This is one of her original songs. I'm off camera. Jim and Monica are in the shot. Jim took this on his phone so the quality is not great. I was playing rhythm on my Godin A12 (12 string), Jim was playing a Squier M80 with dual humbuckers and a Gibson scale length. It's a cool guitar. Monica was playing my La Patrie Etude classical. This was our third try at the song. Jim and I had never heard it before last night.

Enjoyed it, man. She's got nice voice/vibe go'n on...

Very well done, love the voice, she get the spot ?
If she wants it and it sounds like she does. She is no nonsense and knows what she wants. After a few songs she told me how she liked her voice EQ’d and told me to turn up my guitar. She was right on both counts. It sounded way better. Didn’t know how she’d react to us two old coots but she held her own and wasn’t intimidated. Our first singer was very good vocally but she was intimidated and never spoke up about what she wanted. Monica is from Spain and we had to explain the blues to her. After we played Where Did You Sleep Last Night with Jim singing she took over vocals and killed it. She is great at harmony as well.
