The studio i go to has a lot of mustang type amps..my guy is psyched when we come..no digi pre made stuff goin on with me. We talk about it a lot. The newer generation is doing sims & no rigs..but they do admit the old stuff is sounding better..but..the final answer from them is..its heavy...i laugh,, would carry my amp on my back for miles for the tone it has..we back some of their leads out of the tracks& i play to em..you can hear nite & day dif of a real live edge of breakup vs faking it...studio guy is..immediately getting Ampeg pf50t...we put it through its paces today..motown..metal..overdriven motorhead..got my P sounding like Lemmy even.. So i am def offloading my 2 SVT4 pro heads now...the lil bugger covered it allI spy with my little eye..........a funky little Fender Mustang I --

what you see will be the sound on song 7, RUIN when it comes back pre mix..Bass was that mic & DI out to board..no sansamp today..didnt need it..we agreed in a/b comparison the speaker movement captures the speaker punch & more of the Ampeg attitude. The SG was used clean & then that setting you see on LaGrange was it, for bump..i simply used neck & mid for bluesy type saturation & then hit bridge for the speed stuff. very basic..today was just right for once..even Jon .studio guy was really into the tune...we did something very dif...we got j in the booth asap..after a basic structure..then i melody lined to her voice & then did bass..then at end colored it all in,,maybe new formula to help her..she has to wear iso headphones all day..cant tolerate the noise yet..been playing way down.Super was only on 4 todayA Beta 52 on the bass rig? And a 421 and 57 on the Fender rig?....can’t go wrong really...solid stuff.
