Old Debate . . . New Thread

I have a real nice Dogtown Board from Wes Humpston. Never been on wheels. I'm actually related to him! Humpston and Humiston both come from
Humberstone in the UK. There is a town and river named Humberstone in Leicester where our names derive from...
Dang..man let see that board sometime !!..Alva--Adams..Muir were my hero's in the 70's....we used to search for drained pools..not many in PA..we had to live vicariously thru the west coat boyz back then..skateboarder mag fantasies

You got that right. New Jersey here.
We- my motley crew of friends and I, built a 1/2 pipe but the transition radius was too tight and it was a somewhat harsh ride, but we got some air.
I was a Hooligan then (though I did go to school), stealing plywood and lumber from construction sites and such.

There were a couple of concrete and 1 fiberglass park around that we got to go to sometimes that were great fun.
There was 1 guy from that crowd, not 1 of my close friends but I hung in his group some, that turned pro, Jeff Jones.

Same here, those guys were the $hit! I came out to California from Ohio in 1978 and tried to find them skating in Dogtown! I drove down to Santa Monica and Muscle Beach area. It was down right dangerous and pretty scary back then for a small town Ohio boy. Never had any luck seeing anyone famous...

We skated the streets in Ohio and I was always looking for a big hill to ride down. Pools were out of the question in Ohio. I had a friend coast beside me in his car once. I hit near 25 mph and then I bit it hard! Road rash from head to toe, but I walked away...

My first board was a small Makaha board like this...

WTF wuz dis thread originally about??????
the old debate over wiring..my take away

one of my old skateboards and just might become my live rig pedal board.. and my other takeaway..i set my amp first..then just need few options of how hard to hit it to play 99% of my set..need a clean-light crunch-heavy crunch & 2 types of lead sounds. Which most of is set on my guitar Vol knob.then 2 pedals.

back on topic then...what i don't like about 50's wiring is the tone stayed consistent as you backed down. depend on my guitar to be the main tonal influence into an amps circuit. 50's acts live a master Volume to me. Iike how the radical tonal shift happens on volume drop stock.
