Robert, Another factor one might attribute the sound of Glenn and KK's Gibs are pickups and their placements. I mean The V and SG right up against the neck with the Neck PUP, and the Bridge pup up closer than like today's SG Standards etc.

When I think of Priest' guitars, I definitely think of this sound.

I think so...as much as I am addicted to Les Pauls, there is something about the sound of an SG (or a V or an Explorer) that just somehow is more RAW and RIPPING through a monster amp. Every time I pick up one of my SGs all subtlety and nuance goes out the window and I start playing UFO and Sabbath and Priest and all sorts of fuzzed-out stoner desert sh!t.

I never could bond with my 2016 Gibson SG. It just didn't have the punch of my Les Pauls...

Sorry to derail off Priest, Robert, but when I hear how one doesn't get a certain sumn out of a Lester, or an SG, or a Hamer, Yamaha etc, I have to go to the sources I know most for the fellas who used a certain AXE during a certain time and how that sound sticks with me. Just like you and Leslie West.
