The ones I have on my amp power cables....they have two separate paths. When you look though them, you see two holes, so a loop of cable is outside the clamp. I need to get more of these...

I noticed the amps were quieter when just turned on with no instrument plugged in....

I live in a pretty old house, the wall power is safe, but not always clean.

Ok...The ones I have are imprinted with the brand name 'TODAISU' and carry part number 'HT3329T.' These are oval and allow you to loop the cord through it....

They will be on pretty much anything that uses a switched-node power supply, and that means every new piece of electronics. In these cases, they are there to stop interference getting out, not in. The FCC has some pretty harsh laws on how much interference things are allowed to create.

Well, I put 9 feet total of copper tape in the SG...think that'll work???

Getting miserly in your old age? Ha! I imagine that will do nicely. Might be worth looking for wider tape.

I find the 2" tape gives me good flexibility. It looks like a patchwork quilt, but it really does cover nicely and the pieces all have conductivity front and back...
