I think it was Goldmember who suggested the ECC823 to me......but the 12AU7 roll out I came up with through experimentation.

Yesh, I used the ECC823 in my DSL15. Sold it, but I dug it.

12AU7 is better - IMHO - than the ECC823 because it smooths the green channel gain as well, FWIW...
