I am definitely no connoisseur of wine but I can tell you what beer I like!Flawed experiment. He only used inexpensive bottles - the top end there is about $17? Sorry, but that's an inexpensive bottle of wine, and the real threshold in my experience is around $30 plus or minus a buck or two. To me that's the range where you definitely know where your money went. There are outliers of course (one of my favorite everyday bottles right now retails for $7, but the next vintage may suck) but by and large there is a huge chasm between a cheap and expensive bottle. With the caveat: know what you like! Experiment to find out what styles/regions/grapes you prefer and then you can really begin to appreciate the difference.
