Does anyone know how these compare to the 490R/490T in my Gibson SG Special?
Yes, they are a little bit louder and brighter and clean up at a lower volume knob setting, I actually have a pair in my tool kit, waiting for a donor body to become available. I had them in my '59 ri for awhile and liked them better than the OEM Gibson Burstbuckers. I swapped a pair of 57s into the G-400 Vintage that they came out of, because I play blues and jazz, mostly, but would put them back in a minute if I were a Metalhead. I have the same pickups in Silverflake, may fave Les Paul.

So I was in high school during the height of the hair metal '80's and love that music. I was just graduating college when a hard rockin' band from LA hit the music scene lke a sledge hammer. That band was Guns and Roses. Since then I have loved the band, at least as it was with Saul Hudson (aka Slash). Not much of a fan of the recent lineups, I have to admit.

Anyway, I have seen Slash live with his new band and he still kicks serious RnR A$$!:dood:

Here is me dressed up as Slash for a Halloween party this past year:

Biddin,
Thanks for the info. It will definitely be helpful. I love hard driving guitar and I grew up in the "metal head" 80's but I really appreciate the sound and tone on 70's RnR like Zeppelin. Love Billy Gibbon's sound from ZZ Top too! I guess I like it all so I have to have WAY too many guitars to cover it all!

The TRC cover looks better in person. It looks gray with a matte finish in the pic but is definitely black in real life.

You don't really wanna hear me play do you?o_O
I'll see what I can come up with. I don't have any recording software or mics.
