With much sadness & smiles..the gear purge is on. At almost 55 staring down reality..(will we be able to go live cause of accident ever again)? I took a very honest look at my goals. been metal all my life..its been a blast ..the shows..the crazy stuff(girls dancing in cages-in 80's-up for days..uggg) ect. With X amount of years to play left.Simply find my enjoyment plugging strait in to a Fender Super Reverb..why that amp.? It is a songwriters & precise lead amp. Writing songs now...not just crunch. It opens up for so much more to do vs speed theatrics..which is hard to top each song..also J's voice fits in better. If we didnt have the accident never would of went thru so much gear..but a/b compare is the only way..& ya ears to set amps..pretty much what was true years ago still is..the amps are designed to work at certain levels back then..so the true mojo is in the tubes cooking. Also learning amp up & guitar Vol knob..5 chords-7 crunch & dime leads covers a whole lot of ground...the constant pre amp hiss & noise floor is much lower. It was hard to do..really was..but maybe the songs is where i want the effort in next run..not the noise or impact. The heavy journey was fun..
