Do you consider yourself a guitar player or a musician?

I'm much better at buying them than playing them. Show me a nice flame or quilted body and an ebony board and I'm reaching for my wallet :run: But in all seriousness I'm barely a guitar player. I play covers. Musician know musical stuff ! The reason I play guitar is that it challenges me, it does not come natural. I know a few guys that just have that "gift". Playing lead or improvising is really challenging for me, so I REALLY admire guys (and gals) that can do that.

The great thing about this hobby is I hope I can be still playing right up until I'm gone. I remember watching BB King playing in his 80's and going, man I hope I can do that too.

It speaks to everyone's passion about music and guitars. I'm very passionate about my music. It is on my mind 24/7. I'm not great at playing any instruments but I love playing them all. I love taking a song apart and trying to figure out what makes the song different form other songs. I love trying to write songs even though it is a major struggle. I love trying to come with an arrangement to make a cover mine while still maintaining the integrity of the original.

Who else gives away Gibson's, stomp boxes, wireless units, other guitars and all manner of musical goodies than our highly dysfunctional crew????
