Ignore button for a particular room ?

Well I do know a bit about computers (understatement), software, content management software, forum software, shopping cart software and blogging software like WordPress that all have the core program and 3rd party add-ons. I have run into glitches multiple times getting the 3rd party plugins to play nicely with other 3rd party plug-ins. I'm actually working on resolving this kind of issue on two fronts at the current time. One is for my day job with shopping cart software and the second glitch is for one of my personal clients getting a WordPress site to accept a Chinese translation plug-in without breaking other features. So I do know of which I speak.

I would be interested in a 'Room-Ignore' feature, if for no other reason than to be able to filter posts, making it easier to review if away for a few days. It would be nice to be able to tailor things to my interest areas.

But, I get your point, Wav. You've obviously put it a massive effort here. I'm not an IT guy, but I work with them, and I know none of this stuff is easy.

If things settle down, maybe revisiting such a feature would be nice for a later enhancement...kind of a 'nice-to-have.'

The software of this forum appears to have a function which excludes certain subforums from the list of new contributions. In bassic.ch i find that really helpful to exclude the classified ads from the list of new posts. And if i decide to have a look there i am still free to have a look there.
 
I agree 100% Grant. If you don't want to see it, ignore it! And thanks for all your hard work, bro. I wish I could buy you a beer... You definitely deserve one!

This place is a team effort. Ray, Adrian and myself dreamed this place up, but the moderators help to keep in running smoothly. We could not do it without them! :bow:

Then there is the membership here. without y'all posting here, we would be nuthin. Just a bunch of empty rooms.

My English must be real bad, because what I intended to ask was if there was such a button.
Excuse my French, but where did you all read, I wanted one created ?
 
No there is not a button provided with the software. Yes there is a button that can be purchased from a 3rd party and installed.
 
If someone is that annoying just boot them from the board. It's simple. Set rules and follow them is all that has to be done.

First rule should be 'no trolling' ... there was/is a troll on ETSG who is ignored more than anyone

...and some people (myself included) read something into the question that wasn't
there and responded to what we thought was asked instead of the actual question.
We should all remember what happened here and pay more attention from now on.
