All amps are Trainwreck 3 PPIMV, Set your tone at Vol..bring down to desired level..adjust to compensate. Darn close to what you need at any level. Best low vol amps i ever owned.Sit between a 4x12, its hi fi at talking level. Moving soon & had my tech totally go over each & mod to some personal tastes from previous amps.

Because I am not a smart man.....are the knobs on the two 3 holers a master volume mod?

All very cool , I would like to hear the JTM . Actually all of them.
thanks.used all 3 of em so far this CD. here is" Dry" on the JTM50

its messed up..i am on Fender Super Reverb & Pro mode....total excuse to get the pedals out...BUT..think on this....running these fenders at volume..they open up & that clean break is raw dirty..think SRV-Jimi....the clean leads that are full then a lil dirty grit..i think learning the 4 holers led me to these fenders ..i pummel them & they give back in the big ol American way..its a lil dif than a mid focus..but its a gut deep punch/// feeling a lil sumthin -sumthin..with my American guitar into American amp..& its getting down & dirty//after next 2 songs..its going to be all the stuff i really want to do & its southern but heavy

My only 4 holer is a kit I built from Trinity Amps.
They call it an 18 watt TMB.
I had enough EL84 amps at the time, so I built this one to run a pair of 6V6 power tubes.
I stuffed it into the smallest swamp built cabinet that I could fit a 12" speaker in.

It's a riot to take to bar jams.
No one expects anything.

Cool man !! i love 6v6 tubes...bet that bad boy is a lot of fun.

Nice, very nice. 4 hole amps like this are my favorites. I use a '68 spec JPM 50 clone that I built as my main gigging amp. WP_20190303_20_39_08_Smart.jpg

I did a thread on this amp when I rebuilt it with the (mostly) all NOS components about a year ago.
For special occasions I have a '69 JMP Superlead 100 watt clone WP_20130306_14_47_12_Smart.jpg
& a (partial) gutshot WP_20130306_14_36_42_Smart.jpg
I did a thread on this amp build about 4 months ago.
I have all period correct NOS components for a JTM Black Flag (reverse logo) build, I just have to decide whether to do it as a 50 or 100 Watter. I have tried all the various types of PPIMV's, but they're not for me. I don't use these amps for home use. I use a 5F1 clone for that (I did a thread on it as bit over a year ago too).
Enjoy your 4 holder's. Cheers

Now that's what I think of, when I think Marshall.

Sweet photo, total rock n roll.

You know...I hear a lot about SL6 and EL-84 vs EL-34 vs KT-88 and I'll be darned if I can hear a difference.

Now, having said that, I often play through a studio-owned Blackstar that has a switch where you can select the different tube voicings and I can hear a difference there most certainly.

For over 20 years, my main amp was a modded 2203 with a 2034 cabinet and it had been hot rodded before I bought it, so I'm not up on everything that was done, but i have happily downsized from that.

I only change pre amp tubes and then only to alter the amount of gain available. I never switch out the El-34's in my DSL40C and find them adequate. My amp volume is always on 7 and I use a volume pedal in the loop for control, but i often floor it on solo sections when the band is cookin... and its incredibly loud and still articulate at those levels...which i know is power tube territory.

What makes you prefer one tube over another???

Some would give you crap over a clone of anything, but I dig 'em...

cool, thanks for the share. did you ever look into trainwreck 3 PPIMV ? i am blessed with a friend who has built amps since the 70's & friend who is 35+ year authorized Marshall repair. T3 is designed..here is where most miss it..for TONE retention at lower volume...get your normal sound at volume..then, bring the master down to desired level..then move chan vol knobs to compensate, same goes as for LP to Strat change..tiny lil chan vol tweak) All old school guys say the MV are being used wrong..stating neutral is not a way to set an amp or start on Zero & work up-you never get the circuit in its designed range ) the real plexi setting is dime all the knobs,,heck the tone knobs are basically useless when you run her wide open..that is where all the mojo is.

I got a phone call last night I play to loud I play my amps on volume one. And I don't care to use my Air-brake
and kill my RCA black plate 6V6 power tubes. On my Dumble Tweedle Dee Deluxe amp 15 pounds.
Or bring my ODS-50 combo amp 87+ pounds + flight case and Dumbleator I can adjust the volume or decibels
down to zero with out killing my power tubes or sound quality.

That board looks like such a clean set up. Simple in it's perfection.
