Mastodon show 2019 washington

Hey LRT...

Here's a pic that you probably didn't get yet. I've got em all. I'll be sure to email them to you.

Our little infant band and theirs too. Group shot. It's gotta be framed and hung in our jam space, don't you think?

That is just a cool ass photo, my grandson got a pic of him and at the time his favorite band Against Me.
Cheers to the great memories you guys have of the show.

It's actually my second time doing this with Mastodon lol

Last year they did like 4 songs for a total of 11 of us. I think this probably had a dual purpose, as it was an opportunity to not only give the VIPs kindof a special private show, but also to do a proper soundcheck before they went on.

We got no private show this year, but I'm cool with that because LRT and I got to actually play guitar instead.

I'm doing it next year too. And if they're back after that, I'll do it again. The cool thing is that they make a real effort to mingle. It's not like most of these meet and greets where everyone lines up and the band's sitting at a table, and you just get to kinda walk by and get a quick handshake and maybe an autograph. These dudes make the effort to literally just genuinely hang out with the fans for a while.

I'm considering bringing my son along next time, he likes Mastodon too.

That would be a hell of a time and one he will never forget.
Cheers Mitch

Cant wait for next year. This is a band that I have high respect for. I shook all there hands and a lot is to be said about a handshake. Every member had a good firm shake and it tells me that not one thought of them selfs as better than another person.
To elaborate I think but dont know that kary king would have a soft shake. We know he's an arrogant prick but I do love Slayer.
Ah, what the hell....ain't my thread but why not...

The pic with you and bill, that's a good one. He saw what I've been saying for years and its visable in that pic.

I'd really like to get him to just jam with me, lol

He obviously has a serious structure and goal with his lessons...there wasn't really any jamming, it was more about showing us techniques, odd scales he runs to warm up and stay limber, the unconventional chord shapes he uses, stuff like that.

What I wouldn't do to just jam some Ember City or something with him... lol

Well theres always next year. I was well worth the $500 spent. Maybe fan boy wont be there next year.

One thing I've noticed in mastodons music is that they like ring out open notes. This was something bill talked about in the lesson. He talked about proper left hand positioning of the thumb and building strength. He also spoke a bit about sitting proper with the guitar. I never really thought about sitting proper because I'm standing 95% of the time.
