This TDY Will NOT End!

Was waterskiing one day and some people in a canoe had one fall out of a cypress tree into their canoe..

That was NOT FUNNY:mad:

Damn Varmints....We went and picked them out of the water and towed their boat back, one needed a serious change of clothes...I kinda felt sorry for her...
So I gave her some clean gym clothes for her to get home:cheers:

What is TDY?
I hated being on call but it was only during the overnight / off hours from home.
Real drag working the regular day shift then having to get up at night to field phone calls and / or go out on service calls.

TDY is an acronym for Temporary Duty. It always involves being on the road away from home for multiple days. It's usually Months away in the Military...

I’ve been nailed before so I get it...
Not a fun experience for sure along with some pain and 3 doses of anti venom...

I know many will not agree with me, but I say only good one is a dead one....

I was bitten on the back of the left hand by a Rattlesnake in 1991, getting firewood from the wood pile. All the years that I kept them as pets and handled them, I have never been bitten...

I can understand how you feel. No judgement. I respect them as a part of our eco-syetm. I am the guy in my neighborhood who gets called to relocate them.

Here's a photo of my pet Northern pacific who lived over 15 years. I had him since he was the size of a nightcrawler. He was regularly allowed out to roam about on sections of the farm. I never removed him from his habitat without a hook, but once removed, he could be free handled. He would also come when called. People told me for years they didn't believe a snake would come when called, but there is a guy in Texas at a herpetology center who has two rattlesnakes that come when called, You can see the You Tube video if you search for "Rattlesnake Comes When called."

Guess I can honestly say, I am deathly afraid of them and will leave alone if @ all possible...I do understand the need for them in our eco for sure..
When I was bitten, I was lying down with my cousin by an oak tree shooting ducks next to my parents boathouse, it was cool outside and the rattler happened to slither in my jacket while lying down and when I noticed a weird feeling I stood up, lifted my jacket and it was near my waist, guess I startled it and WHAM..
Right in the lower stomach....

Than the party began:rolf:

Another story sometime.. but family knows now not to tease me with snakes...
One spent more time in the hospital than I did with the bite:pound-hand:

Very glad you made it safely, Tri.

Reminds me of a story I heard once. Some buddies were out in the woods one day when one of them got bit by a rattler in his junk. We all know that method of getting venom out of someone who has gotten it. The one buddy says to the other, " it was nice knowing ya"

Thanks!
It did suck for sure, but glad I knew enough to try n be still to keep venom @ bay until help arrived..

I just try and stay away from those critters when possible....

More like I run like hell...:pound-hand:
