YOUR FIRST ALBUM

I’ll interpret the question as first “real” album, as in not children’s music and bought with my own money.

For me it was Led Zeppelin II. I think it was early 1975. After that it was Kiss, Aerosmith, etc. What really changed my life was in ‘76/‘77 I got my first Sabbath and Rush albums. The die was cast after that.

I am surprised that I never wore a hole in that vinyl....I picked that album apart until I could riff thru most of it.....
The song T.N.U.C. was one of my favs @ the time, maybe because of what the song meant, that took me awhile to figure out what it was:rolf::rolf::rolf:

Back in the 70s I had a friend whose father was a minister. While at his house, I found a flyer that explained how KISS
was an acronym for "Kids In Satan's Service." I remember laughing uncontrollably, and his father came into the room and
scolded me.

It's hard to remember which one was the first LP bought with my own cash, but it was either of the following:

I also had the live bootleg

When I got my first Sabbath album I went on a mission to find all of there music

My music teacher in Jr High let us bring in and listen to albums right before summer break. That's when I first heard Boston, Kansas, and Black Sabbath. From that point on, there was no going back. I memorized the lyrics to Carry on My Wayward Son. I still remember all of it. That song got me to by my first electric guitar. It was 1978.

@Chubbles
I saw Kansas with Mahogany Rush as the opener around that time.
Philly Spectrum.
but real young and stupid drank the blackberry brandy that was being passed around and I remember little.
I remember I had some wicked spins but didnt puke.
My buddy's older sister puked full on onto the back of the woman seated directly in front of her.
Pretty much a disaster, but funny if it was in a teen coming of age rock 'n roll movie.

God I loved that first Boston record!
I have been revisiting it lately and have started learning the leads to Hitch a Ride.

I grew up in Philly and still live in the far northeast. I miss those days in the Spectrum. I lived real close to the Empire Rock Club and spent my fair share of time there too.

One memorable Spectrum show was Ozzy, Bark at the Moon (Motley Crue opened). There was so much pot, I think the cloud came down and gave everyone a contact high. I didn't do any at that show.
